What clients needed, and what we built

Each engagement below runs from the problem they brought us to the state we left them in. We have not published figures for these — when we do, they will carry how they were measured.

Leading European financial institution

July 2021 – December 2024 · EU

DevOps transformation for a financial institution's mobile app

The bank set out to rebuild its consumer business around a fintech mobile app. We were brought in to run the infrastructure behind it — automating the software development life cycle, applying Well-Architected practice from AWS, Azure and Google Cloud, and holding to the regulation the sector carries. Two senior engineers.

What we did

  • CI/CD pipelines built on AWS CodePipeline
  • An AWS EKS cluster, with more than thirty AWS managed services behind it
  • Multi-cloud integration, for flexibility and redundancy
  • Infrastructure as code, so the estate stayed consistent
  • Documentation written for compliance as much as for the team

What came of it

The app was developed and deployed without the bank carrying its own infrastructure problem — security, compliance and day-to-day management sat with us, and their people stayed on the product.

Streamlining and automating the software development life cycle

A legacy system on virtual machines, deployed by hand. The work was to turn that into an automated workflow the client could run themselves.

What we did

  • Applications dockerised, with a CI/CD pipeline per micro-service
  • Separate staging, acceptance and production environments
  • Testing, scanning and compliance audits added as pipeline stages
  • Infrastructure migrated from virtual machines to a Google GKE cluster
  • Local development environments per micro-service, on Vagrant and Docker Dev Environments
  • An internal developer portal, through which the whole SDLC is automated

What came of it

New projects start immediately rather than waiting on setup, onboarding runs off the local environments, and the development teams are self-sufficient through the portal.

Transforming infrastructure for a mobile gadget review website

A high-traffic review site running into three problems at once: scaling, cost, and surges it could not absorb. We looked at what it actually needed and rebuilt the infrastructure around that.

What we did

  • The application made stateless
  • Cloud-native services adopted in place of what was there
  • Content delivery, image resizing, streaming and caching offloaded to AWS and Cloudflare

What came of it

Traffic spikes no longer cost performance, and the same change improved both cost efficiency and resiliency.

Cloud-native transformation for an edutech startup

An edutech startup building its platform without cloud-native experience in the team. They wanted the architecture right before the growth arrived, not after.

What we did

  • Software architecture agreed jointly, and a tech stack settled on
  • An internal development portal set up
  • Daily support while their own team built the first micro-services
  • Kubernetes for both development and production
  • Managed databases, relational and NoSQL
  • Cloudflare integrated for video streaming and transcoding
  • Vendor-agnostic object storage across more than one provider

What came of it

The platform launched on an architecture built to scale. The storage decision was deliberate: no vendor lock-in, and better availability across regions.

Talk to the engineers who would do the work

Not a salesperson. Bring the estate you have and the constraint you are working to, and you will get a straight answer on whether we can help.
